2 Snacks That Will Shrink Your Waistline

I'm baaaack! I've brought you two more recipes that will help boost your metabolism and shrink your waistline! Each of these takes less than 20 minutes to make so time should not be an issue! If you want to learn about more recipes, leave us a comment with some health interests (i.e. losing weight, bulking up on muscle, toning the stomach), and we'll do our best to give you some juicy materials!

These two recipes are a crowd-favorite, especially since they have some heat behind them! My children don't like these too much, but my husband can't get enough of them! Whip these up quickly and save more time in the kitchen! "Bone apple-tea" (haha, just kidding--we know how to spell).

Sweet Heat Popcorn: 15-20 minutes

Air-popped popcorn
Cayenne pepper
1/3 cup raw almonds
1/2 tps of vanilla extract
1/4 cup of agave

Combine agave, almonds, and vanilla extract in a bowl and bake on cooking sheet with parchment paper for 10-12 minutes at 350 degrees. Once almonds have cooled down, mix with popcorn and sprinkle cayenne pepper for a sweet and savory treat.

Health Benefits:
This sweet, salty, and crunchy treat has just enough spice to stimulate the metabolism and to warm things up a little. Packed with protein and nutty flavor, almonds are a long time nut-lover favorite and are absolutely irresistible when drizzled with a little agave nectar.

Ginger Green Bean Sticks: 7-10 minutes

1 cup of fresh or frozen green beans
1tbs fresh grated ginger
Three pepper blend

In a pan of boiling water, drop green beans to cook for 3 minutes. Remove from the pan and place in an ice-bath to "shock" green beans. Mix together and enjoy this crunchy, refreshingly spicy snack.

Health Benefits:
Among the healthiest and most delicious spices on the planet, ginger is loaded with nutrients and bioactive compounds that have powerful benefits for your body and brain. Rich in fiber, vitamin A, and folate, minerals and plant micro-nutrients, fresh green beans are also very low in calories (31 calories per 100g of raw bean pods) and contain no saturated fat.
